POETRY

a delicate study of the interface between geology, biology, and emotion
in a rockpool.
muscles bend, brace
as toes curl against raw stone, tender
like barnacles
unsheathed, exposed before the winter
waves and ink-eyed watchers, bottling
water there and water here but
different. not separate.
there the sky cannot control
its desire to
touch, to breathe, to taste
the shining
rolling pelt
of a lover’s world

This boy glows gently;
Glass, diffusing morning light
Into the hallway
Hair white and alive
As though it danced from his head
As he slept dreamless.
A patient question
BOY (2018)
Swimming in the simplest blue.
He waits and watches,
Waking only now
As soft soled feet scuff the floor.
Life forms around him
